PTA CALENDAR OF EVENTS 2010
Prep Pyjama Day - Thursday 21st October 2010
It was a very lazy in the Prep Department when all the children rolled into school still wearing pyjamas! Of course this was indeed with the permission of Mrs Nairn in support of the PTA’s first fundraising activity of the school year. The children looked cosy and warm in their fleecy pyjamas and soft dressing gowns – as did Miss Gill who was the only teacher brave enough to join in the fun. Well done Miss Gill and well done Prep for another fantastic start to the PTA calendar.
Christmas Fair - Sunday 28th November 2010
We would just like to say a very big thank you to all the parents, pupils and staff of Bridgewater School for making our Christmas Fair such a fun and successful family event. The PTA, as the focus for fundraising on behalf of the school, has been overwhelmed by the generosity of families within school and friends in the local community who have helped us once again with our fundraising endeavours.
Many teachers gave their time to set up and man a number of our stalls and games, as did students from Prep and Seniors. Mrs Hunter and Miss Evans did some fabulous cheek art for children and Alasdair Bruce manned the tuck shop raising much needed money for the World Challenge Funds and Jack Roche and Nick McCance performed a selection of songs to while away the afternoon. Well done, and a very big thank you to you all.
We were absolutely delighted with the response to our Christmas Raffle. Thanks to the Senior Departments non-uniform/raffle day and the Prep Departments loyal efforts to sell raffle tickets amongst family and friends. Congratulations to all our lucky raffle winners, especially Mr & Mrs Roland (Lyall in KG) who won our marvellous first prize of a two night stay at Ringwood Hall Hotel, Ken (Iris Ling P5) who won the fantastic Panasonic Lumix Camera and Mr & Mrs Anderson (Oliver 9W) who will enjoy a fabulous Champagne lunch at the Hilton Hotel, Deansgate.
A very special thank you to everyone involved with Santa’s Grotto this year. Denise Cochrane worked tirelessly to create an enchanting, magical masterpiece of twinkling lights, Christmas trees and visual delights for children to experience on their journey through the grotto to see Santa. An absolute delight – well done Denise!
We are so very lucky to have a team of dedicated people who year in, year out, give their time and support to behind the scenes activities, preparations beforehand and organisation on the day, which help to make our Fairs run smoothly and professionally. You know who you are and you know how much we appreciate all that you do.
Finally thank you to Mark, Colin and Claire who kept us all fed & watered throughout the day and to all the Prep children for providing such beautiful tree decorations for us to display. Congratulations to KG whose Christmas stocking decorations were chosen as the overall winners of the Prep Christmas Tree Competition.
Very many thanks to everyone involved for yet another memorable fair.
