We are very proud to be part of the local Worsley community and we believe that our students should support and have a good understanding of their local area.
Each July we invite the local Worsley Community Association to use our facilities for a week so that residents of every age can enjoy the beautiful grounds of the school and benefit from our excellent facilities. These activities include tea dances for the over sixties and a teddy bears picnic for the under fives.
Our Senior and Prep School Choirs sing at local homes together with carol singing at the Ellesmere Centre in Walkden in December.
We invite local primary schools to daytime productions of various plays and concerts and provide them with transport to make their journey an easy one.
Our school community enjoys being part of its locality. Distributing gifts at Harvest gives much pleasure to the children who make personal visits to local residential and nursing homes.
The Mayor of Salford is a regular visitor to the school, supporting charity events such as Derrian House, a local children’s hospice and St. Anne’s Hospice in Manchester.
These links with the local community enable us to extend our knowledge and understanding of our local area. Indeed, the history of Worsley forms part of our Prep’s History curriculum which includes visits to historic Worsley village and St. Mark's church.
