Bridgewater offers a broad and balanced curriculum, which will equip pupils with the skills, values and attitude necessary to lead fulfilling lives and make positive contributions to society.  The school actively promotes attitudes of mutual respect and responsibility and encourages high standards of behaviour and self-discipline.

We endeavour to provide the highest quality in all aspects of school life through the care, investment and value placed on our staff, pupils and parents.

1)  To encourage all pupils to grow and become learners for life in a caring, family school where quality work and endeavour is celebrated and pride is shared in personal, individual and group achievement.

2)  To develop pupils' spiritual, moral, social and cultural understanding and to learn sensitivity to each other's needs.  To achieve high standards in all their relationships, showing friendliness, respect and courtesy to others and to understand the needs of the world outside school.

3)  To create a school environment and ethos where children come to learn eagerly and where they feel valued, safe and secure.

4)  To provide all pupils with teaching of the highest quality and a curriculum which meets their needs and at least the requirements of the National Curriculum.

5)  To develop a high standard of skills and understanding of numeracy, literacy and scientific concepts, to use such skills to communicate with others and to grow in personal knowledge and enjoyment of these skills.

6)  To develop a high standard of skills and social awareness of the scientific, technological, social, historical and geographical aspects of the local environment and wider world, learning to use tools and equipment suitable for such tasks.

7)  To share the experience and develop skills and understanding of creative expression in music, arts, crafts, literature and physical education.

8)  To meet the special needs of all our pupils, whatever those needs may be.

9)  To work in partnership with home for the greater benefit of children's education.

10)  To work out these aims in a school where individual children can reach their highest possible level of achievement in a purposeful atmosphere.
