Pastoral

"Pastoral care is an outstanding feature” - ISI Report 2007

We place great emphasis upon the well-being of our students. Form teachers play the central role in guiding their classes and helping with any difficulties and worries that sometimes face young people. However we believe that our pastoral oversight of the student extends beyond the role of the form teacher. Our form teachers are supported by an experienced pastoral team, who are in turn supported by a member of the Senior Management Team.

Most of the pastoral, developmental work we do with students forms a part of everyday life – ranging from talks with the Headmistress and interaction with teachers, to the examples that we use and set throughout all our lessons. Once a year, every pupil within the Senior School is asked to take a trip ‘off site’, with their class. The trips encourage independence in our students, as well as a sense of self-belief and belonging.  They are designed to bond the year groups together and encourage teamwork ethics.
