Physical Development

Physical development builds on the skills children have already acquired. The children have PE with a specialist PE teacher once a week in groups of no more than 10. They also attend Salford Fit City and participate in Gymnastics with qualified coaches.  Other activities include environmental walks in the woods and the natural play area. This helps build large muscles and gives children the space they need to run and play. Use of large equipment such as tricycles and bicycles helps to enhance gross motor development.  Use of small tools like scissors, pencils, paint brushes and even working with play dough helps children to develop their fine motor skills.
