Performing Arts

All students in Years 7 to 9 follow a curriculum including Music and Drama and both subjects are available to study at GCSE and AS/A2 level.
In Years 7 – 9, the emphasis is on practical music and drama making with students learning a number of skills and techniques in both areas. We have a purpose built Drama Studio with sound system and stage lighting and the Music room is well equipped with a range of instruments and computers installed with music composing software.

At GCSE, students can opt to take Music and Drama and both subjects are becoming increasingly popular options. AS and A2 Music and Theatre Studies are offered to our sixth form students. Please see our Sixth Form area to read about our AS and A2 Drama productions.

There are a range of extra-curricular activities available and students perform regularly in public, both at school and in the wider community. We have an annual school production as well as a number of concerts and drama performance evenings. Each year we have a Music Showcase evening in aid of St. Ann’s Hospice.
